A Journey of Faith and Spiritual Growth

– by Shehroz Chand

Editorial note: In 2022, a young man named Aezal Shyl from a Pentecostal Church in Pakistan reached out to Christ’s Youth in Action and asked if they could collaborate, as they are starting a ministry that disciples young people.  After four years of online connections, Aezal’s older brother, Shehroz Chand, came to Manila and attended the International Leadership Training Conference sponsored by our young professional group, Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon. Receiving a vision from God and learning more about evaenglization and discipleship, Shehroz went back to his home country and formally establish a group called Anchored Society. Together with a few other leaders, they conducted a Christian Life Series for several months to help the young people understand the Christian faith and encounter Christ in their lives.

By the grace of God, Anchored Society Pakistan successfully completed the Christian Life Series (CLS) 2026, a three-month journey designed for the youth of Anchored Society Pakistan. From May to August 2026, 15 participants took part in this program, which became a blessed and meaningful experience of learning, fellowship, spiritual growth, and deeper commitment to Jesus Christ.

The CLS consisted of seven regular sessions, each followed by a follow-up session. In every regular session, a speaker from the Philippines joined us online and faithfully delivered the teaching. The follow-up sessions gave the participants an opportunity to discuss, reflect on, and share what they had learned. This helped them connect the teachings with their own lives and encouraged them to take practical steps in their faith journey.

Throughout the series, CLS brought many new experiences for the participants. It helped them gain foundational knowledge about Christianity, correct various misconceptions, and understand their faith more clearly. For many participants, it was their first experience of being part of a program of this kind. As the weeks progressed, we witnessed encouraging changes in their lives. Many began to pray and worship more regularly, grew spiritually, and became more intentional about their relationship with God.

One of the most significant moments of the series was seeing all the participants make their commitment to Christ and express their desire to follow Him and serve Him more faithfully. We believe that this commitment was an important step in their personal faith journeys and a foundation for their continued growth as followers of Jesus Christ.

Throughout the three-month journey, we continually felt the mighty hand of God at work.

The Holy Spirit guided and led us in many ways, and we witnessed Him working in the hearts and lives of the participants. The spiritual growth, strengthened faith, corrected misconceptions, and positive changes we witnessed reminded us that this journey was possible because of God’s grace and faithfulness. For this, we give all glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.

The journey concluded with a Graduation Ceremony, where all 15 participants received certificates for successfully completing the CLS. One of the most blessed parts of the ceremony was listening to their testimonies and hearing how God had worked in their lives throughout the three-month journey. Their testimonies reflected the spiritual growth, renewed understanding, strengthened faith, and positive changes that had taken place during the program.

We are deeply grateful to all the speakers from the Philippines who faithfully facilitated the sessions and invested their time and knowledge in our participants. We extend a special word of thanks to Brother Peter Jess Legaspi for his guidance, facilitation, and assistance throughout this journey. We are also thankful to Sword of the Spirit, Christ Youth in Action (CYA), and Lingkod for their support and contribution.

We believe that CLS is not an ending but a beginning of a longer journey. We pray that this step of faith will lead to a long-term impact in Pakistan, contributing to the revival and advancement of God’s Kingdom and the spreading of the Gospel. We hope these 15 participants will continue to grow in Christ and become future leaders for God’s work, not only in Pakistan but also among the nations and around the world. May the foundation laid through CLS continue to bear fruit in their lives, and may they faithfully live, serve, and witness for Christ wherever God leads them.

To God alone be all the honor, praise, and glory.

May everything we do continue to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.
