2nd Leaders Conference in Central America

– by Juan C. Aragón

On the 1st of August of 2019, almost 300 brothers and sisters from the Central American Zone,  together with some special guests, got together in Tegucigalpa Honduras, to begin their second leaders’ conference with the theme: Building Families for the Kingdom.

We live in especially difficult times for the family and it is very important to have events like this one to remind us of how crucial it is to protect family life and our way of life in the Sword of the Spirit communities.

We heard about looking after the promised land, God’s Kingdom, and to do this through our families. We also talked about how the enemy has entered to the very center of our homes, and how we need to kick him out and disallow him to distract us from our mission and way of life. We had plenty of practical times to talk about the parents’ role, the role of young people, the raising of children, pastoral care, and more. Finally, we took some time to practice spiritual warfare for ourselves and for those for whom we care.

We had very refreshing prayer times which gave us strength and renewed energies in our relationship with the Lord.

Also, in the sharing groups, we were able to apply much of what we talked in the sessions and pray for one another.

This was, definitively, a great time to share with brothers and sisters of the zone, to strengthen our identity as disciples on mission, members of the Sword of the Spirit and to make bonds within the various communities of the zone.

Now comes the better part: working for the Kingdom of God!
