A group of single women from nine communities in the North American Region gathered in Clarkston, Michigan for a weekend retreat June 14-16.
Eileen Rafferty, from the Community of the Risen Christ in Glasgow, Scotland, came to speak to us and to lead us in meditation of the great love that God has for us and the great love that He has for us to give to others.
The Lord spoke to us and refreshed us by His presence and by the time with the sisters!
One of the most interesting features of the weekend was the unity present among women of very different situations: there was about a forty-year span between the youngest and the oldest woman in attendance. The small groups were of mixed ages, professions, and situations of singleness (never married, single for the Lord, discerning state of life direction, and divorced), yet the women shared deeply and were quick to minister to one another in sharing and in prayer.
It was a wonderful weekend; one that we hope will continue to bear fruit in the lives of our sisters and in our communities!
