The words of Psalm 133 come to mind, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity … for there the Lord commanded the blessing”.
The approach we’re taking this year to the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity might raise a strong objection. Aren’t we supposed to mourn our disunity, not celebrate it?
How can we better appreciate the riches of grace found in other Christian traditions? And how can we (and do we) draw upon those riches in our Sword of the Spirit communities?
Bethlehem this day resembles heaven: hearing from the stars the singing of angelic voices and enfolding within itself the Sun of Righteousness. And ask not how; for where God wills, the order of nature yields.
